YET
Evaluation
The innovative nature of the PA New Communities project requires an
objective evaluation that assesses and provides information about the
program’s effectiveness. To successfully implement the project,
the evaluation strategy must become an integral, complementary component
of YET. Indeed, the complexity of the YET demands an evaluator to act
as an objective analyst and also as a partner. The New Communities Project
state staff and site staff will work on the collection of process and
outcome data.
We are starting with a pre-test
and will follow up with a post-test for each curriculum area. We are
also interested in evaluating the student’s life skills. This
will be done with a “Skills for Everyday Living” survey
designed by Dr. Perkins and Dr. Mincemoyer.
Skills
for Everyday Living (72k PDF)

in a youth program. This survey is administered at the beginning and
the end of each year.
